What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are treatments for wrinkles and facial lines. A dermal filler is a smooth gel that is injected into the skin to plump it up, make it firmer and 'fill out' facial lines. Fillers can be used on:
The Procedure
The actual treatment takes from 15 to 45 minutes depending on which areas are being treated. Beforehand your medical aesthetic practitioner will use a topical anaesthetic cream such as ligocaine to numb the area so you should feel minimal discomfort. We will then inject tiny quantities of the dermal filler using a fine needle, under the surface of the skin. After the injection, your medical aesthetic practitioner will smooth the product down in your skin by massaging the treated area.
The results are instant! You may be a little red and swollen in the area that has just been injected, however this only lasts for a very short time (1-2 days at the most).
